Something light hearted this week, so if you have a few minutes at lunch or you’re just curious have a go at what Google can do all year round. *I take no responsibility for your drop in productivity as you sit and play with Google for the rest of the afternoon! Don’t forget April 1st is always good fun for tech companies just check out my blog from last year’s April Fools “Google April Fools 2017

Google Mirror

It all started with Google Mirror this section shows the fun things you can do with google and links to other areas. This is one of my favourites, everything is mirrored.

Zerg Rush

When you type “zerg rush” in Google .The ‘o’ and ‘o’ of Google appears from the top and the right of the Google page and slowly eats up the whole page leaving nothing, it’s fun to watch.

Atari Breakout – my new favourite

Go to Google images and search “Atari Breakoutthe images will be transformed into blocks and you can play Breakout ,classic arcade game of the 70’s era. I found this when researching for this blog, this is my new favourite!

Something isn’t quite right here. If you type “askew” into Google, you’ll find something funny: The whole screen tilts down a bit to the right.

*This is the least exciting trick!

Search for “recursion” on Google and you will get stuck in an infinite loop much like recursion . Recursion means repeating. Google will show “did you mean recursion?” every time  searching for recursion. It is a fun fact of Google for all the geeks who understand what is recursion.

Google Anagram

Google “anagram” and the search engine will suggest “nag a ram.” Very cute.

Answer to life, the universe, and everything

For fans of Douglas Adams, Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, which claims the number is, in fact, the answer to life. Type in “answer to life, the universe, and everything,” and Google has a pretty clear answer: 42. The search results are a nod to Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. This also works for “the loneliest number” and “number of horns on a unicorn.” And google will give you a number.

Blink html

Type “blink html” into your Google browser. But be warned: you probably won’t be able to handle watching the blinking words for very long.

Google Guitar

You can play different melodies with different keys on the keyboard.

Google Pac Man

This is an April Fool last year, one of my favourites. They turned Google Maps into Pac Man  and you could play Pac Man down your street.

Google Sky

You can fly through space using Google sky. You can see celestial objects, including stars, constellations, galaxies, planets and the Earth’s moon via Google sky.
